on to something big..
By February we had spent six evenings at the Barn, and the performance began to develop.
A while ago a parent warned me,

. . . . . . . . . ... . . . . . . . . . technology always lets you down.

The themes started to appear miraculously across the whole piece. Just as we are all part of a connected community, these young people are united in this piece talking about their stories from a small town, the idea of getting out, departing, and saying goodbye. Through the use of this technology has come the theme of surveillance, of being watched, which we are all feeling more and more and which I don't suppose will ever go away.

our thanks to all..
I must thank our wounderful collaborator, Malcolm, who's ability to bring together technology and ideas made this possible.
Also Stephen and Orlando from Company Paradiso who as usual have been stars and Jon Oram, who has mentored me through the writing. But most of all our young collaborators, who seem to be able to tell wonderful stories with ease and have picked up our form as if it's the most natural thing in the world.
